EDAM Secretary General Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Üstün provided comments to Anadolu Agency on Türkiye’s role in NATO’s emerging security architecture. Üstün highlighted Türkiye’s multidimensional contribution to the Alliance, encompassing military capabilities, defence technologies, regional deterrence, diplomacy, and experience in multinational operations. She also underlined Türkiye’s strategic role across NATO’s eastern and southern flanks, particularly in the Black Sea, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Caucasus, and the Middle East. According to Üstün, strengthening Europe’s security requires reinforcing NATO’s European pillar while fully incorporating the contributions of non-EU Allies such as Türkiye.
