The world’s attention will be on Cancun/Mexico for the climate change negotiations that will take place over the course of the next two weeks. The period after 2012 will also show whether the international arena is keen on implementing their promises about the reduction of carbon emissions. Prior to the negotiations, the atmosphere is not very optimistic for an agreement to be reached due to the economic state of most countries as a result of the economic crisis, the issues in the budget policies of developed countries and the challenges faced during the transition to sustainable growth.
